Six Year old Marysville girl saves her grandma's life by dialing 911
February 15th, 2009. Melody Mendez for Komo News: A lesson learned by a little girl in her preschool class helped save
her grandmother's life - and on Sunday the Marysville Fire District
honored the 6-year-old hero at a special celebration.
When Mikayla's grandmother suddenly became sick and fell to the floor, Mikayla remembered a lesson she had learned in her
preschool about calling 911. So she quickly called her mom and then
dialed 911. "She's just an amazing little girl, she's made us very proud," says Mikayla's mother, Julie DiGrazia.
Thorstenson says Mikayla's story is a real-life reminder of the importance of teaching kids those three numbers.
