PSE will own it.  This will be with the approval of P.R. Parks Board. An American Red Cross person is to come up here to train our volunteers and to see our supplies. This training will be for using the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Benson Fire Hall, and the Community Center, to use as evacuation centers. Also for use of the Red Cross trailer.

  6.  We received very detailed info from Heather and Steve about the computer website. The website is much enlarged.

7,  Fund raising -- Andrew has two more calls to be made for the APB February ad.  We are trying to have a flea market with Mexican food. Will Steve do it, as he has a contact who can prepare the food? We are contemplating having a dance at the Reef, perhaps in late May. We need to have someone to apply for grants.

  8.   We need a letter of understanding in re the procedures in having PSE have Delta electric trucks come up here if it is not feasible for for PSE trucks to make it in case of outages. Ed will contact Mr. Sandoval at the border.

Community Info: There will be an emergency exercise at the Bellingham Airport on September 24, 2011 for Community Emergency Response Team members who are willing to participate. This exercise involves many emergency departments in Bellingham and is a great way to participae and learn first hand the overall rescue process. For more information or to enroll, contact Andrew 945-1801.

September Tip: Remember, in any emergency or disaster, communication between family members is important and sometimes difficult. Experts suggest having an out-of-state relative or friend as a central point for all family members to connect with and leave messages. This will enable members to contact someone who is not affected by the emergency. Stay connected to stay safe.
